for provincial programs

MPNP, AAIP, BC PNP, SINP and other nomination programs. Translation requirements depend on the stream; check federal IRCC application rules separately.

Applying through a province

A Provincial Nominee Program provides a provincial nomination that supports a federal permanent residence application. The provincial and federal stages have separate requirements.

A provincial route may be relevant if you live or work in a province or have a qualifying connection there. Many of our Canadian clients are in Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia.

Provincial and IRCC rules can differ

Use the document checklist for your exact stream. Alberta’s AAIP Worker Streams checklist requires a certified translation for documents not in English or French. At the federal Express Entry stage, a translator’s affidavit is permitted only if a certified translator cannot complete the translation.

Do not assume the same translation automatically works for both applications. Check your provincial stream, then your personalized document checklist and IRCC instructions.

Province-specific requirements

Manitoba · MPNP

Evidence of a Manitoba connection may include relatives, studies or work. Check the MPNP translation policy, including translator eligibility, affidavit and original-copy requirements.

Alberta · AAIP

The AAIP Worker Streams checklist requires a certified translation for documents not in English or French. Do not present an affidavit as a universal substitute at the nomination stage; check other streams separately.

British Columbia · BC PNP

Use the current Skills Immigration or Entrepreneur Immigration application guide. Translation, qualification and upload requirements depend on the program and documents.

Saskatchewan · SINP

For International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer, check the original-copy, English or French translation, translator certification and Translator Affidavit requirements. Other streams must be checked separately.
